Yes, Supabase has a free tier that's more than enough for most side projects and MVPs, and it's open source.
What's Free?
The free plan gives you 500 MB of database storage per project, 1 GB of file storage, 50,000 monthly active users and unlimited API requests, with auth, realtime and storage included. Two catches: you can only run 2 active projects, and projects are paused after one week of inactivity — they come back when you unpause them.
When Do You Need to Pay?
You upgrade to the $25/month Pro plan when you need more than 2 active projects, more disk per project, automated backups, or a database that never pauses. Because free projects pause after a week of inactivity, anything that has to stay online unattended belongs on Pro.
